Book Review: The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

I don't usually read fantasy, but this is one I am glad I didn't miss. From page one, you are swept away to this strange world where a dangerous forest separates two lands-- one that has the happy, free cities, and the other, the Protectorate, that is clouded in sorrow and ruled by severe and controlling Elders. A witch in the forest is supposed to demand a newborn child each year from this grey side, but it turns out there is a more evil witch living within the walls of the Protectorate. Get ready for an imaginative, epic adventure!
